TRADITIONAL houses in South Sulawesi has unique architecture. Made of high quality wood that can survive very long time. However, the traditional houses at this time are rarely found. South Sulawesi Miniatur Park stores various types of traditional house in South Sulawesi.
Location of Object
South Sulawesi Miniatur park is located in Daeng Tata Street, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This park is located in a complex with Benteng Somba Opu. It is about 10 km from the central of Makassar City (Karebosi Field).
Overview
South Sulawesi Miniatur Park has 27 collections of traditional houses representing four ethnic in South Sulawesi, namely Makassar, Bugis, Toraja, and Mandar. Comprising of 23 houses built by each local government and four houses built by the provincial government.
Houses are generally built with original architecture. Made of wood with a very good quality. Tongkonan (traditional house community Toraja) with buffalo horn-shaped curve roof is also established in this complex.
This complex is neat. Every year, the Government of South Sulawesi Province performed an exhibition that shows the progress in infrastructure and farming result.
Still in the complex, tourists can see the Karaeng Pattingaloang Museum. This museum stores some collections such as ancient canon that was used by Kingdom of Gowa in 1669 war, fraction wall of Somba Opu Fortress, decorative stones, and collections of traditional weapons.
Access
South Sulawesi Miniatur park can be accessed by public transport, taxis, and hotel transport facilities. With public transport, the trip was started from Karebosi Field toward Cenderawasih Street. Then continued to Somba Opu Fortress.
Rates
To enter the complex of South Sulawesi Miniatur Park, tourists charged Rp 2,000 per person.
