The Beauty of Kapoposang Island

KAPOPOSANG Island is a fairly popular marine tourism object in South Sulawesi. In addition to enjoy the natural beauty, visitors can also dive, snorkel, and fishing. Fishing locations around the island are the best one in Indonesia. Come and enjoy a holiday in Kapoposang Island.
Location of Object
Kapoposang is one of hundreds of small islands in the range of spermonde islands in Makassar Strait. Administratively, the island is located in Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The distance is about 68 kilometers (42 miles) from Makassar City.
Overview
Every holiday season, the island is visited by domestic and foreign tourists. Kapoposang Island is very beautiful and has many privileges as a marine tourism. The island is green covered with casuarinas trees and coconut palm.
Some fun activities that can be done on the island are diving, snorkeling, fishing, see the turtle habitat, and witness the sunrise and sunset panorama.
Diving and snorkeling is great because of coral reefs around the island are healthy and beautiful. Moreover, the clear water conditions and not contaminated. Colorful fishes such as dancing cheerful welcome tourists.
There are some places to dive that offer unique. Shark Point and Tanjung Point are more favorite places because of various fishes there. There is also Aquarium Point because of resembles an aquarium with wrasse (small fish) play in soft coral and coral reef.
To the southern area, there is a large atoll in the middle of sea called Takabakang. This place is a favorite for spear fisherman. The water strongly flows so that preferred by fishes such as tuna ringleader, schooling grouper, giant trevally, and cod.
Habitat of tortoise shell is beauty in the other side. Rare animal are living in Kapoposang Island Beach and lay eggs there. Tourists can see it but not allowed to disrupt them. This animal is protected by the law.

On the island there is a resort managed by PT Tirta Makassar Tourism. The resort has a restaurant and sports facilities. Tourists can also rent a yacht 20 tons weight to deliver to the location of your favorite fishing and diving.
Access
There are several routes to Kapoposang Island, from Port of Paotere and POPSA Dock in Makassar, Kalibone Dock in Maros Regency, and Tonasa Dock in Pangkep Regency.
Using the traditional boat, the trip takes about 6 hours from Makassar, 7 hours from Maros, and 8 hours from Pangkep. However, if tourists use speed boat from POPSA Makassar, trip only takes three hours.
