Kayangan Island

Kayangan island is the nearest island from the mainland city of Makassar. It's only 2 miles (about 3 kilometers) from the coastal beach of Makassar.
Overview
This is a small island with enormity only about 1 hectare. The western coastal of this islands is an area that facing to Makassar Strait. Meanwhile, the eastern coastal is an area that facing to Makassar City, exactly opposite to the Port of Makassar. No population on the island.
Two contrasting views presented. If you are in the east coastal, blue sea with exuberance small islands soon will seen, and of course incredible sunset at afternoon. Meanwhile, if you stand at the east coastal, you will see the Makassar Port with many big ships. Shining lights will be impression scenery at night.

Tourists can not only lying on the white sand, but can also swimming in the sea. Fishing and water sport such as a jetski or snorkeling become preoccupation activities in other side of the island. Kayangan Island also has a number of Aquarium, which contains variety of ornamental fish.
Access
Kayangan islands are easily accessible with regular motor boat. Dock to Kayangan Island is located at Ujungpandang Road, exactly in front of Rotterdam Fortress. Trip to the island takes only 15 minutes with Rp 10,000 fare.
